Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information Symbion collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. Symbion is a human–AI collaboration workspace, so much of the data we handle is content you deliberately bring in for your agents to work with.
1. Information we collect
Account information. When you sign up we collect your email address and a password (stored only as a salted hash), along with basic profile details you choose to add, such as your name, institution, or field.
Content you create or connect. We store the documents, messages, tasks, and agent conversations you create in Symbion, plus data from third-party accounts you connect so your agents can act on it.
Usage and device data. We collect limited technical information—such as log entries, approximate location derived from your IP address, and device or browser type—to operate, secure, and improve the service.
2. How we use your information
We use your information to provide and maintain Symbion, run the agent tasks you request, authenticate you and protect your account, respond to support requests, and improve the product. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not show you third-party advertising.
3. Connected third-party accounts
When you connect a service such as Gmail, Google Calendar, or Google Drive, Symbion accesses only the data needed for the features you use—for example, reading messages to summarize an inbox or drafting a reply you then approve. We do not use the content of your connected accounts to train general-purpose models. You can disconnect any connected account at any time, which stops further access; content already synced can be removed by deleting it or closing your account.
4. AI processing and service providers
To generate agent responses, relevant content may be processed by the AI model providers and infrastructure vendors we rely on to run Symbion. These providers act on our behalf under contractual confidentiality and security obligations and may only use the data to provide their services to us.
5. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. When you delete content or close your account, we remove or de-identify the associated data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain it to comply with legal obligations or resolve disputes.
6. Security
We use encryption in transit, access controls, and other safeguards to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify you of a breach affecting your account where required by law.
7. Your choices and rights
You can review and update your profile, disconnect connected accounts, export or delete content, and close your account from your settings. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information; contact us to exercise them.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
